You're telling C1 - This is what color and brightness a face should be, and then it goes "Cool, on other images, I'll set the WB and Exposure values to get you there." Instead of trying to find some neutral, you are identifying what it should consider "proper" specifically for faces. This just does it all for you, They aren't being vague, it's just simple. Because of that, a huge part of the editing process is WB and Exposure adjustment to taste.
